Introducing the Zimute Labs direction

Zimute Labs is the part of Zimute that most people won't see directly — at least not yet.

It's where the underlying work happens: streaming infrastructure, discovery systems, artist analytics tooling, and the internal APIs that will eventually connect everything we ship. Think of it as the engineering and product function of the Zimute portfolio — building the foundation before the house goes up.

Why 'Labs'? Because not everything we build becomes a product. Some of it validates a direction. Some of it becomes shared infrastructure. Some of it gets thrown out. The point is to maintain a genuine capability in the space we care about — so that when we do ship something consumer-facing, it's built on a foundation we actually understand and own.

Right now, the work inside Labs is oriented around HYPTRAK — the streaming engine, the analytics data model, and the creator dashboard framework. As that work matures, we'll share more of it here.

Longer term, Labs is interested in: music recommendation and discovery systems that don't default to popularity bias, AI-assisted tools that help artists manage their creative work without replacing it, and media infrastructure that can be shared across the portfolio.

None of that is shipping tomorrow. But the work is underway.
